Introduction
If you try to adjust the levels of a M-B using a STAR Diagnosis System (SDS) or Diagnosis Assistance System (DAS) you MUST NOT just go to "actuations" and then lower it or raise it as IT WILL NOT STAY ADJUSTED this way. You have to go to Initial startup mode in SDS.
Note this method was published by MB World Fanatic aleksandar1099 ([1]) and refers to a W211 but equally applies to W220 models.
Method
1 Using SDS get to the 211 Section
2 Select F3 to See Main groups
3 Select Functions performed by more than one control unit
4 Select F3 to see Function main groups and select Chassis / Chassis
5 Select F3 to see Brake system and Select Level adjustment
6 Select F3 to see List of all control modules and Select Suspension
7 Select F3 to see Airmatic and Select Initial startup
8 Select F3 to see Initial startup and Select Initial startup with manual settings input etc.
9 Select F3 and Read the disclaimer, then select F2

O. If the level sensor voltages are within the allowed tolerances, the car will accept the new level setting, if not it will reject it.
